I thought this event went very well. The fact there were only 3 participants gave the instructor ample time to help where needed. Frank gave good ideas, and inspiration. I find going ?solo? on these types of photo exercises a bit intimidating, but as a small group it confidence was better, and yet we were small enough that we didn?t hinder our subject matter. We more or less blended in.

Very informative. Maria was helpful in letting us know what we would be doing and what to look for. As we toured around she pointed out things that we should be looking at and for. Although the meet up was not designed to be a technical session she was able to answer questions that came up and provide suggestions for moving forward.

As I enjoy taking sunrise/sunset picture, I was droving around Denfield and Nine Mile roads to capture a lonely tree, an old barn, or a sidelite corn field at sunset. It was pretty awesome to see this scene on Nine Mile Road - bales in a field, a lonely tree, lush green grass like a carpet, and a clear blue sky. The sun was low but not warm, the sidelight was illuminating the field, and the scene was vast, fresh, and serene. It was the naturally formed layers that caught my attention - the warm

This lens has a very shallow depth of field at low f-stops. As I approached, the lens was focusing on the small capsules which reminded me of a fireworks burst.

I had a great career of 43 years as an airline pilot. We were often treated to great views not visible from the surface of the earth. This view was one of those. I just liked the way the sun poked above the horizon, lighting up both the high cloud above us as well as the layer of cloud below. This photo was taken on December 21, 2018 on our way to London. The camera used was a Canon 7D MkII, with the EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM at 27mm focal length, 1/2000 sec, f/5.0, ISO 100.

I heard there was a flock of Bohemian waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus) at Howbridge Cemetery Atherton. Being a cemetery setting respect and care was taken using long lens from footpath. This bird is extremely photogenic and looks like a painting, the feathers are so fine the photos of them appear to be over edited but all I do is maybe crop and lightning.I always shoot in Raw info here Canon 7D 400mm f5.6 1/250, ISO500
